Worship & Wonder

First Christian Church offers the Children’s Worship & Wonder class on Sunday mornings during the morning worship service for all children from preschool to fourth grade.

Teachers are guides who offer space, tools, and language which help children deepen their already existing relationship with God.

Children hear a Bible story told with multi-sensory materials, appropriate for children of different ages and learning styles.

As the story is finished the children are asked “wondering questions” to help them dive deeper into the meaning of the story and learn how they are part of the story and the bigger Christian story.

These questions might sound like:

• “I wonder if the Good Shepherd’s sheep have names?”
• ” I wonder what it was like to be in the ark for forty days…I wonder if Noah knew that God was with him?”

Children then have time to respond to God’s story through

• Words (spoken and sung)
• Arts and Crafts
• Prayer
• Dance.
